Rocco J. Carbone, III
Background and Experience
Rocco concentrates his practice in appellate litigation with an emphasis on criminal and constitutional law. He has a multi-state practice.
Rocco’s experience as a criminal defense lawyer includes defending individuals charged with serious felonies, misdemeanors, and criminal traffic violations. This includes defending those charged with crimes ranging from DUIs to homicide, as well as repeat offenders facing significant sentences due to recidivist statutes.
Prior to entering private practice, Rocco was a prosecutor. He gained extensive litigation experience including jury and non-jury trials, and dozens of evidentiary motion hearings, including Stand Your Ground hearings, and various Motions to Suppress. After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Rocco joined a large law firm. His practice focused on various forms of civil defense matters including fraud investigations and legal malpractice defense. During this time, Rocco attended and graduated from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers White Collar Criminal Defense College at Stetson University College of Law.
Rocco is also an officer in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps.
Rocco draws on his varied litigation experience at the trial court level to aid in his appellate advocacy. He has successfully briefed cases before the Florida Supreme Court, various intermediate courts of appeal, and trial courts.
